TL;DR: I'm giving away 300€ — 10€ to each of the first 10 followers, 1€ for the next 100, and 25€ if you get a CEO/CTO with infrastructure challenges to reach out to me. People I know only. Timeless Relic on LinkedIn.

I am giving away 300€. I will pay you 10 euros to follow my company LinkedIn page.

Today on a break walk in the small but amazing park/mini forest of Parque Central da Asprela I had this crazy idea:

Pay for initial followers on LinkedIn.

Growing any page on social media organically is slow and it takes work.

Without asking I managed to get more than half a dozen just by posting stuff on my LinkedIn and changing my title. Curious friends and one stranger followed. Super grateful for these, you are the real ones ♥ Without even asking.

Why I'm doing this

Social media is something I have mixed feelings on, I prefer to long written format, articles, blog posts (which is something I am betting on too). To be honest I don't have any social media installed (or logged in in the browser) of my phone. And I want to keep it like that way.

This month my friend and one of my favorite authors Derek Sivers said: "If you have something worth spreading, it's considerate to spread it widely, to reach people through their favorite medium." in his latest post "I was inconsiderate but now I'm everywhere". So I am getting inspiration from him.

I might do it for other social media later, such the bird like platforms or video ones. I want to create a funnel.

Post hand written content in my site/blog -> propagate to other social media, with the tone/format that best fits that platform.

In the future I might be like Keanu Reeves, in a way that I do not have social media and my message get spread by fans and haters across all mediums. For now I see some value in having social media for keeping in contact with some people.

I see some value on social media, be it LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, hell even Tik Tok... How I use social media.

And, people, myself included even though I deliberate go against this prejudice, value people and pages with higher following more. So at least some following is nice.

Two online forums I visit have services of buying followers, fake ones, or real ones by strangers, I don't know. I used them years ago for Youtube, and sub for sub services too. But I dislike that, nowadays I prefer fewer but meaningful and real followers/fans.

So, I am left with some options:

• Give up on social media again and keep getting clients from word of mouth of cold calling/email.
• Slowly grow organically.
• Dedicate myself to learn how to be viral and grow fast organically.
• Hire someone or some service to grow the socials for me.
• Throw money at LinkedIn for placement and ads.

I've also been listening to the audiobook Buy Back Your Time by Dan Martell, which talks about early MrBeast — how he gave away money as a way to grow his audience before he was anyone. Something about that stuck with me.

And today I had this crazy idea. I know a lot of people, and many of them don't even know I started a company. What if instead of paying LinkedIn for ads, I pay directly to people who care about me and my company, for their attention?

Well, let's try it out.

The deal

First 10 followers — 10€ each

I will give you 10 euros (MB WAY, Paypal, Revolut, Wise, Transfer, physical money if you come meet me) or 10 euros gift card in your favourite store (Apple, Amazon, Steam, whatever). For the first 10 new followers of Timeless Relic.

Followers 11–110 — 1€ each

I will send you 1 euro (MB WAY, Paypal, Revolut, Wise, Transfer, physical money if you come meet me) for the following 100 new followers of Timeless Relic.

Referral bonus — 25€

I will give you a 25 euro gift card in your favourite store (Apple, Amazon, Steam, whatever) or a book/audiobook of the same value if you manage to get a CEO/CTO of a small/medium company with infrastructure challenges or issues to contact me. First 4 people (I might prolong this one because this most likely has the highest ROI).

This is it, my simple 300€ marketing campaign, let's see how it goes.
